I didn’t tell this story yet, but on goyang day 3, after I left my friends for a bit, I went around giving out freebies. I’m very shy and anxious when I’m not with people I’m comfortable with, so I was a bit terrified, but I did it anyway. I got to these two girls, who I now think were probably solos, and I offered them my homemade photocards. mind you, I always hand people the box and let them choose, but I only had two members left, even the ot7 pcs were gone. I kid you not, they stood there with the box for at least five minutes, making disgusted faces the entire time and speaking a language I couldn’t recognise, so I couldn’t really accuse them of something. I felt so small and ridiculous, and I just wanted to leave, but I’m so stupid that I actually apologised for not having more. 😭 then, instead of simply refusing and leaving me alone, they picked two random ones. I’m pretty sure I heard something being tossed into the trash after I turned around, followed by some giggles. anyway, I decided not to let it ruin my mood because I was excited about the concert. later, I met a lovely girl who ended up being my seatmate, and I vented to her a little about it. still, it was a terrible feeling. all this to say that I probably won’t be walking up to people to offer freebies anymore. I’ll let them come to me, because the experience was a bit “traumatic” and I suck as* on defending myself. be nice. be kind. but also keep your eyes open. don’t let people take advantage of your kindness or make you feel small for it.
