the cashew industry is as exploited as the meat industry but instead of it harming and abusing animals it abuses and exploits human beings.
a lot of vegan influencers and vegan outlets push cashews to be an alternative to dairy for making vegan cheese, milk, etc.

Veganism and meat consumption in the modern context are both two cheeks of the same ass. As someone who comes from a family of farmers who have been exploited by industries for as long as I remember, the real enemy is capitalism which makes the industries utterly dogshit.

An HIV-positive man with colon cancer, unable to work for four years, lived in his Los Angeles apartment for almost 25 years.
He says he mailed his rent on time. The landlord said the check never arrived and filed for eviction.
After a trial, a jury ruled he DID mail the payment, but since it wasn't cashed, they said he failed to pay on time.
A judge ordered him out. Sheriff's deputies escorted him from his home of a quarter-century.
He took his dog, Simba, and his clothes. He left behind his furniture, his blankets, his two TVs, and his beloved Madonna CDs.
He's now homeless, sleeping on a friend's sofa.
The system will evict a dying man over a payment dispute.
But a corporation can squat in bankruptcy court for years? "That's a different matter entirely."

I keep trying to tell y'all, you can't use sanism to fight fascism. It's an integral part of it. It's a weapon of the patriarchy, racism, fatphobia, ableism more broadly. It must be fought and taken extremely seriously. It's not a minor issue.

The married cop with children held the woman in a “wrestling-style hold” before having her arrested.
