It depends what you say. If Musk wants people to see it - algorithms up. If he doesn't - algorithms down. Apparently he calls himself a 'free speech absolutist' so he must at least have a sense of humour. I call him a monumental fraud who has turned this platform into a Cult agenda propaganda operation with not least the constant promotion of AI dystopia. Given that Musk is controlled from the shadows I guess the term 'shadow banning' perfectly describes what is happening and where it's coming from.

District 9 earned 4 Oscar nominations, including Best Picture, and it’s a film that I find was drastically ahead of its time. Based on the idea that aliens arrive on Earth to find refuge from their dying planet, the story & the filmmaking are both very strong here. Quality Cinema

Thankful for Friday. Tossed on Good Will Hunting while finishing a few things around the house. Excited to review a few films this weekend. Tell me what you’re watching & give me a few recommendations- I’ll do my best to get to all of them. Hope your weekend includes some Cinema.

I still think about Colin Farrell’s performance as Oz in The Penguin. World-class performance from a world-class actor. I know this was a really demanding role for Farrell but it turned into some of the best work of his career. Farrell’s only 49 & just hitting his acting prime.

The Sopranos has truly gotten me through some of the hardest stretches of my life. For all the memes & jokes to come out of this show, there are only a few pieces of art that have ever connected with me like this show. It’s incredibly deep. And it’s something I revisit constantly

Where does Daniel Day-Lewis’s career go from here? DDL returned to acting this year with little fanfare when he starred in Anemone- a film I really appreciated but others didn’t. Now I sort of wonder what DDL will do next. I pray he works with someone like PTA or Marty. Who knows

American Made is one of Tom Cruise’s more under-appreciated films. I don’t think this is anything groundbreaking that you need to write home about, but this is a super entertaining time with Cruise, who doesn’t take himself that seriously in this film. Definitely worth a watch.
