My unsolicited fangirling story.
Teary eyed as I watch this. I’ve been a silent fan of Bea Binene since 2010 — First Time days.
Back then as a province girly with strict guardians, I had no way of attending her live events even if I wanted to. But I remember tuning in to every show she was a part of. Every Sunday I would sacrifice my playing time on the streets just to watch Tween Hearts. (Naalala ko pa naaksidente ako kasi I was washing dishes while waiting matapos yung commercial break ng Maynila tapos nadulas ako sa kamamadali and got 5 stitches on my left hand — to this day I still have the keloid scar from this incident. A reminder of how crazy I fangirled over her haha).
I bought her albums, magazines she was on the cover of,even clothing brand na ineendorse niya (bum girly here). Before photocards were a thing I printed wallet-sized photos of her and compiled them into a mini book. She was in her element, in the spotlight. Until she wasn’t… I guess, dahil tumanda na rin ako and I left the Philippines in 2014, and became busy with my own life. Na stop din yung hardcore fangirling ko and I was just watching her from the sidelines. From time to time I kept tabs to see if she had any shows.
Hanggang lumipat siya ng Viva and got casted as Via, I was excited for her because I was also a fan of the univ series and I could definitely see her as Via. I had no doubt that she would embody the role.
@beabinene I’m so soo happy for you, my dear 🥺 You are living the hype all over again. This is where you belong. In the spotlight. Every opportunity that came and didn’t prepared you for this moment. Your journey is a testimony of God’s perfect timing.
This project was meant for you and Wilbert. Sobrang galing lang ni God bc He made two passionate and hardworking souls meet. Watching a lot of Wilbert’s interviews also made me realize that the spotlight and the love he is getting did not come easy —and that’s why the recognition is sweeter. Because it’s something he had to earn.
So proud of you two, Wilbea. Please never let the spotlight and the noise change who you are and what your hearts are all about. Thank you Viva and Gwy for entrusting them GSOT, Via, and Arkin.
A chapter might have ended but I know there’s a lot more to be written about your story. Here’s to many more beautiful songs and memories you two will create in the future 🧡 @beabinene @itswilbertross
