@James_Escarcega I’m sorry that happened to you James. No one deserves to be physically or verbally assaulted, especially you. But I’m glad things are getting better for you. Keep fighting the good fight and don’t let anyone bring you down.

It’s been a tough week for me, and I apologize for not being on-site for some baseball games in the area. Last Thursday, I was verbally and physically harassed by a SCNG freelance writer during the La Mirada vs. South Hills baseball game in front of parents and other fans. No reporter should be subjected to any type of behavior like that. I had a chance to speak with a member of the staff at South Hills, and they are handling it. Luckily, I have a great support system and will be back on the horse on Monday with our “Five Games in Five Days.” Please accept my apologies, and we are moving forward.

Newport Harbor has released its 2026 football schedule. The Sailors will start their season off in Hawaii against Nānākuli. Something else to note, with the Sailors and Corona Del Mar being in different leagues the next 2 years, Battle of the Bay will be earlier in the season.

We heard possible rumblings about this, but now it’s official. We’ll miss Ray Fenton at Los Alamitos, but we know he’ll do great things at Orange Lutheran. Best of luck with your new coaching job Ray! 🫡

Huntington Beach releases its 2026 football schedule. You already know we’ll be in the house for Los Alamitos @ Huntington Beach on Thursday August 27. That’s going to be a barn-burner of a matchup.

Really cool to see. Ethan Garbers is the new Quarterbacks Coach at his alma mater, Corona Del Mar. This is a great hire.

Wisconsin got a real good one, as Dorsett Stecker is heading to the Big 10, where he’ll be joining Colton Joseph — who transferred from Old Dominion. Congrats Dorsett!

Today was our last day of filming during the 2025 high school football season, as season 5 is in the books for us. Thank you to the 7 Sunset League schools for everything and thank you to everyone (players, coaches, fans, parents, admin, etc) for all your support! We didn’t do a recap show, but we recorded 1 more episode of our 2025 Fan Zone series that will be published today.

Tough end to the season for @LosAlFootball, as they fell to Cathedral Catholic 42-21 in the CIF SoCal Regional Division 1-AA bowl game. But a lot to be proud of with this Griffins team, whose season went for as long as almost 4 months. Keep your heads held high Griffins!
