what writing programs do you guys use/suggest? I need to get off gdocs. the problem is I write on my ipad/phone 95% of the time, and most programs aren't mobile-friendly.

@sunseterror the only thing they required when i registered was a username and a password, too, nothing more, but it also warns you afterwards that they generate a "recovery phrase" for you and if you lose it, you can't access the account again (it's just a string of words u can save as pdf)

@ringringihring I’ve heard of it before, but only for emails, I didn’t know they had docs. But it’s nice to know it’s partially free. I’ll def have to look into it and see about giving it a try

@sunseterror i just registered! all i know abt proton is that they've been around a long time, supposedly care about privacy and their free account stuff is actually pretty decent, 5gb of space for docs; the email has only 500mb for free which is where i think they win their € with subs

@sunrender when I upload to ao3, unlike if I did my notes app. The amount of reformatting (ie paragraph breaks that dont transfer well) I would have to do just to make it useable on ao3…. Its stressing me out already LMAOOOOO I have too many mental instabilities for all this 😭

@sunrender I’ve noticed they’ve done a lot of updates to the notes app that has a lot of really nice stuff so I do like it. I honestly think I’m just super picky because I already have my docs set up to how I like it and it’s formatting (I change everything) and I don’t have to reformat+

@sunrender I think it’s because of how I write. I have so many folders and docs for the same fic and I’m suuuuuuch a formatting bug while I’m writing. My notes app makes me angry. And I use it for everything else as is so I know I would get everything lost and forget about it😭

@sunrender I love the idea, the customization, and it looks super nice, but the usability for mobile just isn’t there yet. I tried working past it because it’s little things, but it was getting so frustrating. But omg I cannot use my notes app, I will actually throw myself in traffic hdhshs
