When I first became su*cidal, I was a pre-teen. I did intense martial arts training twice a week, gymnastics once a week, weekends of physical labor - and then I started highschool & added dance class 2-3 times a week. I did not become less depressed, in fact I started drinking.

Exercise works for depression. 92% of clinicians get zero training on how to recommend it. If this were medication, it would be malpractice.

@lee_lei_lp @FunFactsLulu Yeah i get that. Sorry i did that. I really did think that was it as is very common in my own fitness route. I hope you can keep working in your struggles and that you get better and heck I’ll try to follow your lead and try to detach myself from results too :)

@sunsetlycan @FunFactsLulu I think you should have originally replied by talking about your own situation instead of applying your personal analysis to mine. Frankly I don’t have any respect for results oriented mindsets, so it’s frustrating to be told that having one is the crux of my struggle.

@lee_lei_lp @FunFactsLulu Which in turn makes it seem like excercise is actually bad for our health or doesn’t help. As op was implying the issue was never excercise itself but external factors, for op it might’ve been pressure for me is looks and for you probably something else.

@lee_lei_lp @FunFactsLulu That’s not my point at all I’m sorry if I made sound like that. I just mean (as it has happened to me) there’s a clash between the health aspect and the physical aspect. Making it hard to excercise even if it’s healthy cus looks get in the way. I’m glad it’s not like that for you

@lee_lei_lp @FunFactsLulu I do still belive excercise can help a lot in felling better but as the article says it’s not a magical cure and it does take a nuance from patient to patient. I’m sorry it hasn’t helped for you and I hope you are doing better

@lee_lei_lp @FunFactsLulu Sadly it’s a reason a lot of people view it as stupid. However the issue here is not the activity itself, excercise helps our bodies get healthy. This is “fitness” issue where excercise becomes “looking better” which can cause psychological issues due to lack of “desired” results

@FunFactsLulu Yep. I spent 20-25 getting increasingly into fitness and also much deeper into depression. I remember bawling my eyes out to my psychiatrist about how my body was broken because working out never, ever gave me any of those positive or euphoric feelings.

@FunFactsLulu I don’t mean to be rude but it think you weren’t using it properly (meaning specifically for depression) obviously if you’re doing so much that’s presssure that stresses you out. Our bodies like to be healthy doing regular excercise can help people feel better.

Nintendo has gotten a patent rejected in Japan due to the mechanic they were trying to patent being already used in a Pokémon fangame from 2013.
While this may seem like a great outcome, this may lead to them starting a major crackdown on Pokémon fangames so that this doesn’t happen again.
