In Kano, especially in markets like Kwari, there are young men around Salim Goje's age who are far wealthier than him. However, because of their culture and religious upbringing, they keep a low profile. People know they have money, but they do not know the true extent of their wealth. That is how the lives of young entrepreneurs seeking success should ideally be. This is why, whenever Kano eventually reveals its wealthy individuals, it is usually to the surprise of the world. Their wealth was not made overnight; it was accumulated quietly over many years. The world only becomes aware of it when it reaches a level that can no longer be hidden. The reason I mention this is that, for someone of his age, Salim Goje has exposed himself too much. This is not because I am from Kano, but I believe that if Salim Goje truly carried the Kano business mentality, he would have remained discreet while continuing to build himself and his businesses. Then, years later, people would suddenly hear of his success without knowing exactly where it came from, just as happened with AA Rano, Aliko Oil & Gas, AY Me Kifi, SUFAYE, and others. The lifestyle Salim Goje has chosen is not one that increases wealth; it is one that drains it. Yes, there is fame, but when you constantly surround yourself with actors, TikTok influencers, and celebrities, pay for songs to be made about you, and appear in videos dancing alongside them, that is not the kind of lifestyle a person seeking long-term business success should embrace. It is a lifestyle that consumes money without generating investment returns. Once that money is spent, it is gone and does not come back with profit. Anyone observing Salim Goje's life today will notice that even his real estate business no longer seems to receive the attention it deserves. Some may argue that he has employees handling it, but serious business-minded people will understand what I mean. He is constantly attending events, celebrations, and social gatherings. May Allah guide him to make positive changes, abandon excessive worldly distractions, and continue building his business. Ameen. — Safiyanu Kabir Sani.

They’ve Sworn By The Quran Never To Return To Vi%lence — Borno Government Says As It Reintegrates Ex-terr%rists Government officials and religious leaders have called for continued peace, urging rehabilitated former insurgents to fully embrace reintegration, shun violence, and support ongoing efforts to end insurgency in the region. Speaking during the reintegration exercise, an official emphasized that the community has collectively forgiven those returning from insurgent camps and believes in their reformation. “On behalf of the good people of Borno State and the good people of Nigeria, we have forgiven them with all our hearts.” The official added that the former fighters were made to take a solemn oath on the Holy Quran, committing themselves to non-violence and peaceful coexistence. “And they have sworn by the Quran not to go back to any form of vi%lence.” According to the statement, the reintegration process is rooted in a community-driven initiative known as Borno Model, where local stakeholders actively participate in screening and accepting returnees they recognize as members of their communities. The official explained that many of the individuals involved were victims of abd¥ction, with some reportedly taken while working on their farmlands. “These are boys that some of them were kidn@pped in their farm, and the community is aware.” He further described how the reintegration process is being handled at the grassroots level, stressing that the community plays a central role in identifying and accepting the returnees. “It is the community that came and screened them and said, these are our boys.” The official also highlighted the emotional cycle of loss and return, noting that communities that once gathered to console grieving families are now expected to celebrate the return of the rehabilitated individuals. Authorities say the broader goal of the programme is to encourage peace, discourage relapse into vi%lence, and persuade others still in insurgent camps to surrender and reintegrate into society.
