just shipped a big update to AI Place Search on Superlocal! your results are now even more personalized to you, with a new “why this place” reason shown for each recommendation the more you check in, save places, and let your timeline grow, the more Superlocal starts to understand what you actually like

just launched an AP x Swatch map app on Superlocal it uses the Foursquare API to show real-time heatmaps and estimated wait times at Swatch stores around the world basically, a line-waiting radar for Royal Pop 👀

THIS GUY VIBE CODED A RUNNING APP WITH CLAUDE CODE IN A WEEKEND THAT TURNS YOUR CITY INTO A BATTLEFIELD he wanted a reason to go outside so he built an app where you claim real territory on a map just by running through it every street you run on becomes yours. your neighborhood turns into your turf, but other runners can take it from you by running the same streets imagine runners waking up at 4am just to claim their blocks before anyone else does the territory mechanic is what makes this different from every other running tracker because it gives you a reason to care about your next run, not just the one you just finished if this idea is executed and marketed correctly it'll blow up on the app store most fitness apps try to motivate you with stats and streaks, but this one actually motivates you with competition over real streets in your actual city vibe coded in a weekend by a guy who doesn't even know how to code

the Swarm map is starting to feel alive again! added new ways to explore your check-ins around the world... heatmaps, clusters, and little visual details that make your past travels feel way more fun to revisit

i don’t think enough people realize Swarm is actively being worked on again just added a new heatmap feature that shows what’s “swarming” nearby, plus some really fun new visualizations of your check-ins on the map feels like the beginning of a much more alive Swarm

we just shipped another new map app in superlocal that feels weirdly interesting! using @Foursquare data, we made a “closed places” map layer now you can open the map and see all the places nearby that used to exist ghosts of restaurants, bars, coffee shops, stores, and old routines 👻

we just added a Butterfly Tracker map app on Superlocal! i'm honestly pretty surprised at how many people around the world actively photograph and track butterflies 🦋

we’re starting to roll out a completely new AI Search in Superlocal. one of my favorite very beta features: you can @ mention yourself and ask questions about your world. · "what was that coffee shop i went to in munich?" · "show me places i’ve bookmarked in tokyo" · "where do i keep going in SF?" your map is becoming searchable with natural language!

this new Map App on Superlocal is weirdly fun! it automatically turns your life into a heatmap of everywhere you spend time it's pretty cool to be able to zoom around the world and see where you've spent your time
