The bottom line is that SABC needs to generate a revenue. The era of government bailout is behind us.Some people don't even TV pay licenses here.

If these are reasons why the @SABCPortal is cancelling something as a public broadcaster, then by the same measures, Everything on @SABC3 should for instance be cancelled, or SABC3 in its entirety shut down. Public broadcasting is Not just about ratings but informing & educating.

They have the final say on matter as the employer. What they've done is standard practice. Nobody promised anyone that the show will go on forever.

@SABCPortal If you don't meet your contractual obligations, then the contract must not be renewed. Maybe, if we stick to this practice and starts holding people accountable, our communities will stop complaining about poor service delivery. The SABC should get its return, value for money.
