Appearance 👀: The appearance of this full melt was alright. It opened up very greased, almost giving it a slight cold cure look which is a good sign for melt, with most of the heads spread evenly across the jar and some clumped to one side rather than holding that fresh “beach sand” consistency you see right after processing. The color ranged from a light ivory where the heads were evenly distributed to a light beige, buttery tone where they clumped together. To the naked eye it looked fairly clean, with only a few pepper like specks present, but under my phone’s macro lens I noticed more of those fine specks, likely microscopic plant material, broken trichome stalks, or damaged heads. As mentioned, the melt arrived very greased, which typically occurs when it is exposed to warmer conditions for too long. Melt is best stored in freezer conditions around -10°F to 0°F to help preserve that sandy texture, and this jar likely greased up during transport where maintaining those temperatures consistently can be difficult. That said, a little grease does not really affect how it smokes.
The melt came in one of those clear, flat jars that West Coast Alchemy typically uses for their melt, featuring both a top sticker and a wraparound label. The top sticker was black with the West Coast Alchemy logo centered in white with a gold outline. The wraparound label had a cool breyers vanilla ice cream theme, displaying the jar name “Vanilla Bean” in white and orange with a green leaf above it, along with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and a vanilla flower to the right, which made it really eye catching and look just like the Breyers ice cream packaging. It also included additional details such as the weight, micron range, collab brand, and noted that it was a single pull. 8.8/10
Aroma 👃: The nose is really nice as I crack the jar I get a sweet creamy zkittlez smell coming out with those sweet citrus creamy notes but the sweet creamy notes come out heavy giving it a nice sweet heavy cream citrus smell. 8.7/10
Taste 👅: The taste is really nice and translates well from the nose on the inhale. At lower temps around 480°F–515°F, it delivers a nice mouth coating sweet zkittlez flavor with some sweet citrus cream notes layered in. It leans heavier on the creamy side though just like the nose, which I enjoyed, it’s basically just a super creamy zkittlez taste that's really nice.
I also tested it at higher temperatures around 550°F - 600°F to see how it handled heat, and it held up well. It still tasted good and retained those same terps I enjoyed when dabbing it low temp. 8.7/10
Burn/Smoothness 🧼: This full melt burned fairly well. It left behind a light layer of residue on the nail and needed a bit of a cleanup, especially at higher temps. There was no charring though, and it held a nice color while melting which was good. It also dabbed smooth overall with little to no harshness or discomfort. I’d say this melt falls in the 5 star range. It melts well and leaves light residue, but it’s not true 6 star melt which is very rare, as six star melt should fully disappear on the nail with basically no residue and dab exceptionally smooth. 8.8/10
Effects 😁: The effects were pretty chill. It delivered a smooth relaxing body high that wasn’t overly potent, but still had enough potency to move you and settle in nicely behind the eyes and body. It’s definitely not one that’s going to take you out or leave you stuck, instead it feels more mellow and calm. 8.4/10
Overall📝: This was a nice jar of melt from @WCAoffical and Mendoja Farms. The reason I grabbed this jar was because I saw someone post the genetics and they instantly caught my attention. I also later found out these genetics were bred by @surefireselect, so shoutout to him as well!
If you don’t know @WCAoffical they are a well known hash brand out of California that does many collaborations with different growers, like this one grown by Mendoja Farms. They are also known for dropping a wide variety of flavors per drop like Feel Good, often well over 15, which sets them apart from most brands that typically release around six or so.
This jar pretty much checked all the boxes. The looks, nose, taste, effects, and overall melt quality were all solid. Taking everything into account I’d place this melt in the high 5 star range. It had only a tiny amount of pepper, melted down well, and left behind only light residue on the nail. However, I would not consider it true 6 star melt, which is extremely rare to come across. True 6 star melt should have little to no visible pepper like specs present, fully disappear on the nail with virtually no residue left behind, and dab exceptionally smooth and clean from start to finish.
This was a nice jar of melt from @WCAoffical and Mendoja Farms. I do wish I was able to get the jar in its freshest form with that beach sand look so I could see how it looked in a flag, but that was really my only real critique. I’d probably grab this jar again because it was flavorful and smoked really nice, although I wouldn’t necessarily consider it super unique since it mainly comes across as a really creamy zkittlez profile, but the flavor was still very enjoyable and I mean who doesn't love a really tasty zkittlez. Shoutout to @WCAoffical and Mendoja Farms! 8.7/10
