One bright spot today - #vilekyle brought up in Senate estimates. This will make the Greens senator his new target of course but it’s nice to think everyone who has been consistently asking for action re the show’s content isn’t shouting into the void solo.

I have a day off today. I have an appointment and didn’t mean it to coincide with the US Election. I don’t know if this is a good or bad thing in terms of doomscrolling, but I probably wouldn’t be getting much work done anyway.

Apropos of current events, if you’d like to really inject yourself with a sense of gratitude for our fierce female forebears and their fight to let woman have a democratic voice at all, I highly recommend the movie Suffragette. Really makes you bone-deep thankful.

I can’t stop thinking about the 80yo lady I saw on a US news segment who was voting for the first time - because her husband didn’t like her doing it before, but he’s dead now. She was so happy about it.

@charminglydaft I’m glad to hear it! Gone are the days of bosses taking out their whole team to a boozy event for the afternoon - in Brissy anyway. My work hasn’t even mentioned it this year

I prepoll voted so almost forgot it was election day here in Qld. Tuning into the ABC coverage even though it’s early and they’re just filling air. Fun fact: I went to school with Jessica Van Vonderen (and her sister) and it always spins me out to see her on the telly 😆
