Open Interest is where maximum options activity is happening. As seller takes more risk, deploy more money, hence in a strike where maximum open interest is, it's assumed as sellers favour. Means if in 20000 strike for #Nifty you see highest OI for CE, it means call sellers are strongly holding there position and expecting Nifty will not cross 21000. Same for PUT side also. Try to draw a range where index will go for short period of time and design the #strategy. PCR being put call ratio shows in a strike, (total number of puts contract/total number of call contracts) Here you can see call contracts are much more than put means people are more interested to sell call than put, which creates a strong resistance. OI and PCR are dynamic indicator and shows at that point how market participants are positioned. In case of any event or news comes, the #OI and #PCR dynamically changes and one has to adjust as per that if required. So absolute OI, Change in OI and PCR all one have to take in account.
