@SecretaryPete Surprisingly people can even get weird about this. I do research in this specific area, and recent publicity has made it clear that culture wars can, in fact, be brought into this topic. Anyway, keep the pressure on for equitable crash safety.

Not everything has to be a culture war. Early federal work on female crash dummies began under President Reagan. USDOT has been using them for 20 years. We test how crashes affect men, women, and children in order to improve vehicle safety & save lives. nypost.com/2023/04/20/but…

@hol2doc @olsonplanner That’s awesome. I think using the words concern, uncomfortable, and/or safety are all very useful in ways to say no. Also saying that something does not align with your whatever—morals, practice, current bandwidth.

@olsonplanner One of my best residents declined to do a surgery at the end of her shift because she didn't feel safe to operate. I was so proud and happy to send her home. These are the behaviors we need to normalize and celebrate
