this thread is vital to understanding women & wellness. I have tried everything from acupuncture to poop pills (yes, poop pills! read @susannahmeadows’ book) to help my rheumatoid arthritis and almost all the “quacks”/their therapies are now mainstream

@taffyakner we were told by the "best" rheumatologist that changing our young son's diet wouldn't help his autoimmune arthritis. now research can explain why he recovered after we did just that. her ignorance motivated me to write a book about it: "The Other Side of Impossible"

I've read so many pieces this week that talk about quackery as it pertains to wellness, how it preys on fear. I actually think many of the quacks we're talking about are truly searching for ways to feel better and to help others feel better.
