Yes - I agree-The Oaks (Friday) feels less overwhelming than Derby Day (Saturday). Smaller crowds, very pink and chic, you can actually watch the races, and it has the better signature drink - and still lots to soak in. A great tradition. Beautiful competitive fillies. And they’re off….🐎🏇👒

Lovely Grey is a filly & running in the Kentucky Oaks. The winner wears a saddle laced in all star gazer lily flowers- just spectacular. It’s held the day before the Derby, all fillies, & many don’t know about it. I liked it better bc the crowds were less & the drink is better - vodka, cranberry juice, triple sec, a splash of soda - delish.
