The @ap issued a breaking news alert about this Russian attack in Ukraine but not the many deadly Israeli attacks in Gaza last night.
These everyday editorial decisions is how the killing of Palestinians is normalized, reduced to background noise we are expected to accept.

Israel’s issue isn’t just with Palestinians—it’s with anyone who dares to back the Palestinian cause, with anyone who stands unbroken, proud, and free!

I’m writing to you now from the heart of hell in Gaza war, as shells tear through the sky around me and the sound of explosions shows no mercy 💔.
I write about a life that no longer resembles life… about moments of terror we endure every single second.
Beside me, Imad clings to his mother, screaming, “I’m really scared!” while Adam cries endlessly, holding onto her leg like he’s searching for shelter from this merciless inferno.
My wife looked at me, her tears falling before her trembling words: “Yara: I think we’re going to die… I’m so scared.”
I didn’t know what to say… I just whispered, “Stay close to me. Let’s be together. If the bombing takes us, let us die together, so none of us is left behind in grief.”
They sat beside me, but my wife’s trembling feet and the tears of our children still filled the space around us.
At that moment, I felt that maybe death would be a relief… but it’s not what I wish for—maybe because I’m not ready, or maybe because I simply can’t bear the thought of any of us surviving this nightmare alone.

“Bombing the hospital is a death penalty for hundreds of patients”
The healthcare system in Gaza has literally collapsed after this unspeakable war crime.

ما يحدث هو كارثة حقيقية بحق القطاع الصحي، ولاشيء يمكن أن يعوض خروج هذا المستشفى عن الخدمة في غزة والشمال، قصف المستشفى هو قرار إعدام للكثير من المرضى.

We have come full circle. In 2023 Israel bombed Al Ahli hospital and commits a massacre. They then spent days on a propaganda trip trying to convince the world they didn’t bomb a hospital. When it was finally obvious that they did in fact bomb the hospital Israel moved on committing massacres on hospital compounds one after the other.
Last night, Israel bombs Al Ahli hospital twice and did not spend a second trying to convince the world otherwise. Why? Because we made it normal when we accepted it the first time.
