@bhalligan Meet with a therapist or coach and try to understand the source of his emotions. Separate feedback on startup from his identity. Do not label it criticism - feedback means giver is engaged, it's a positive signal.

Startups are changing ... accelerators will need to change too. Is it the beginning of the end or the end of the beginning? Time will tell.

Just played around with Chat GPT to create a new framework for evaluating startup pitches. What do you think? The PROVE framework is what startups need to prove to get funded

@martymadrid @jefielding One of two things - either the founder is wrong and stubborn or the founder is right and not conveying why. "High bar" experiments may offer insight. Raise just enough to prove the model, then raise more at higher valuation.

The founder either has conviction around their GTM strategy or they concede it’s an area of concern. If they have conviction, I think the early feedback isn’t a reason to stop the fundraise but a reason to completely rework the pitch. They have to not wait for the concern to be raised, because now it’s evident it’s going to come up, so be proactive vs reactive. Get in front of it early and have a really strong narrative why their approach is a winning strategy. I always like, “you’re probably wondering about , let me tell you ”. IMO.

Caught up with an experienced founder raising a seed round. He Talked to 10 quality investors but many pushed back on the GTM. The question is…does he stop fundraising and address the GTM issue or forge ahead knowing that if he talks to 100 investors, he will find a lead? I’m genuinely on the fence 👀

Wish I was joking but… I needed to get the X-rays they took of my shoulder in the ER over to my orthopedist and they told me to come pick up a ‘floppy disk’ with the images. ER is Mt Sinai in NYC, they use Epic. Ortho is at NYU. Founders + investor, please keep investing in healthcare solutions - we need to fix this.

@EYakoby Sadly completely unaffordable if you are out of state - and Miami is close to 100K. I know because both my kids got in, just couldn't afford it.
