You give them water yet they steal the water pipe. The absolute state of South Africa.

Reading some example press releases generated by LLMs - it reads as if it was written by someone who is a really good BS'er, hard to detect but detectable.

Listening to Kanye's new album, Donda. The guy is a creative genius. Very inspirational.

I have be paying more attention to self-improvement and personal/professional development in the last few months. I did this with a little inspiration from a particular tweet by @Nutlope ,and a few other resources. Here is what I have done, and what I have learnt 🧵

While the disgraceful mayor of durban is stirring racial problems in durban and doing ABSOLUTELY nothing to clean the city, these amazing citizens have taken it up to themselves to clean the city. #ZumaCoupAttempt #KZNViolence

@MarcJBrooker @nconnaughton I like the clear statement, but direct approach can stifle the conversation especially when used by most senior person in the meeting. I like a softer version "I can see the benefits of your approach, and I have an alternative view/perspective/idea on this.."

@nconnaughton I like the directness. Often, the goal of a conversation is to understand where, and why, we don't agree. "I disagree" is a useful way to say that what follows is an incompatible statement, rather than a statement in agreement, or an unrelated one.

The words “I disagree” are redundant when they’re followed by your alternate opinion, and hence they can be interpreted as being confrontational and aggressive - at least in Australia and the UK. Seems different in the US. Gets me every time.

After 10 years at AWS as a manager of some sort, I am still amazed by how well the organization supports and encourages entrepreneurial behaviors (risk taking, moving fast, ownership) but with the benefit of "big company" safety. Still #day1

Another weekend, writing Amazon style narratives...its the job that I tell everyone I hate, but secretly love. Might be a good topic for an extended post.

@HomeAffairsSA Please publish official letter stating that "DHA is not currently processing unabridged birth certificates because national archives are closed due to COVID lockdown" This single letter will help thousands of South Africans who are applying for green cards in USA.
