Sad news with the passing of Duncan Pugh at just 48. A WA track and field athlete (hurdler) he went on to compete in bobsleigh at the 2010 Winter Olympics. He died of a brain aneurysm.

TDR athletes spent the morning working with visiting master steeple coach Lindsay Watson at the Target Talent Program Camp.

Tassie Distance Runners (TDR) coaches; Brendan Hanigan and me with Georgia. She has run PBs this season in her 1500, 3k & yesterday’s 800. So proud of her efforts after a tough injury filled 2020. She only runs 3 or 4 times a week and cross trains on other days.

Early season squad results yesterday; Luke Palmer first track race since Nationals & in the Tassie rain runs a sweet 9.16, 3k. Same age Jasper Scamps Magro (14) ran a blinder in NSW C race last night 8.59. I work with Jasper via correspondence. Ran against his Mum Sophie Scamps.

Very proud to be named the Athletics Tasmania coach of the year last night. It’s been an absolute pleasure coaching this amazing squad. So grateful for the supportive team around me including the athletes & their parents, physios, strength & assistant coaches, Yvette & Rob.
