I have attempted a digital reconstruction of the beautiful mural of Goddess Parvathi from the Talagirisvara Temple—a powerful remnant of Pallava artistry. Built by Rajasimha Pallava in the 8th century, this temple once housed exquisite sculptures and vibrant mural paintings. Today, most of the paintings have faded or vanished with time, leaving behind only fragments that hint at its former glory. Among them, the mural of Parvathi stands out. The goddess is depicted with an elegantly adorned kirita and finely detailed ornaments, with an umbrella held above her—symbolising royalty and divinity. Her gaze is captivating, as she appears to be witnessing the cosmic dance of Nataraja. That corresponding mural, painted on the opposite wall, has now almost entirely disappeared, surviving only in faint traces. This reconstruction is a humble attempt to reimagine what once existed. Hope @ASIGoI takes urgent steps to preserve what remain, as these murals are symbols of our civilisational past.
