@xoticbutterflyy @radyunjins They tell to their daughters “oh, men are evil” once they become fathers, and that’s when they acknowledge to themselves they “were evil”. they r very well aware that men r dangerous to women. That, and yes, they’re worried about their daughter’s purity (such a sick concept)

@svitlanalol @radyunjins Mmhmm I intuitively know something is wrong, we are the only animal uncomfortable with our offspring developing bonds. Weird. But as it relates to patriarchy I’m gonna think about this more to put my finger on it. Purity culture is part of it.

Men hating the idea of their daughter dating is extremely obvious evidence of the patriarchy in more ways than one. I have alwayss found it very disturbing.

Men, who think it’s masculine as well as funny to be as loud and inconveniencing as possible. That is not something they ever “mature” out of and it shouldn’t be accepted in the first place.

I will never ever be a passive woman. I see how that mindset has hurt my mother and other female family members throughout their life in their relationships and other aspects as well. It’s good to be assertive and not just accept things because that’s “that’s way it is”

@biggerthomason No I won’t get over it. Everyone gets over it and that’s why nothing changes

Carrie gets her period and is bullied for it. The fact you’re pretending that had anything to do with you is so beyond the realm of sanity. She was an abused and neglected girl, whose mother shamed her for her menstrual cycle and you think (or want to joke about it) being about you. Your desire to be seen in abuse and neglect of teenage girls is truly demented.

Boys growing up do not suffer nearly as much as adolescent girls do. Being born into a female body is, as negative as this sounds, pure bad luck. Puberty is hard on everyone but always more devastating for us. I would find it heartbreaking to have a daughter in this world

Something ppl don’t talk about enough is when you reach that age as a girl (for me, around 12) where you realize how men really view women. Sexism and body standards started extremely young, but as your body changes and u hear language surrounding sex it rlly clicks. it hurt.

Immigration laws need to be strict so that immigrants know they must assimilate properly and those who need refuge the absolute most, like women from the 3rd world, can find it in the different culture. Having areas with high Muslim populations in first world nations is trouble.

@Molaau6 Being hyperrational and structured. I've noticed this in a lot of devout Christian women. They tend to repress their feminity and be very animus possessed. It's very unattractive to masculine men.

So basically am I cooked? 🥲 I genuinely think these are reasonable standards but in this day and age I feel like I might be asking for too much

@cybelethebest @designmom 58 yo man here - of course a 12 or 13 yo occasionally catches my eye in that way (I would not admit this in person). It’s shameful, but I’m not sure what I can do about it other than register the shame, immediately avert my eyeline and move on w my day.
