@svntowers @hudsoncunt But also going after another teams best player is always a risk because then they will likely go after your best player.

reading a fic which made a really good point: shane and ilya, despite having such an intense rivalry, and ilya being such an explosive player who chirps often, they never actually got into a fight. how did anyone rationalise that? 😭

@ao3atmidnight I think it’s funny when reading a fic and they use the term “fancy him” when the character is not British 😂 immediate giveaway the author is. It’s cute tho, doesn’t bother me.

one of the main things my beta reader does is check for britishisms. I only made it to the second word this time 😭

@Pointerbrother Dentist Shane after hrs in office alone. It’s raining out. Ilya shows up after a fight injured a fang. Shane works to fix it but finds it odd, Ilya says it’s genetic (wow, genetic) Shane is oblivious the entire time. Ilya decides not to feed on the pretty dentist with freckles 😅

@hudsoncunt @hudiscorrie He was also the only one of his friends concerned enough for shane to check on him after the raiders’ plane crash bc of this “crush” he thought Shane had. Mind you at this point Hayden knew they were together and didn’t check on him, iirc. They can never make me hate JJ.

@hudsoncunt Girl same, my hockey knowledge is minimal, that’s why I’m wondering if any real player is known for that. Because even if Shane didn’t want to fight, realistically I don’t see how he could avoid it his whole career (minus the Scott incident lol)

@hudsoncunt I get that to an extent. I’m not asian, but I am poc so I get the pressure of performing exemplary behaviour even when that’s not expected of others. But in hockey fighting isn’t viewed negatively, so I dont see why it wouldve made Shane look less than perfect if he engaged in it

@svntowers It's higher stakes for shane bc he's asian. A lot of fics explore his desperation in striving for perfection publicly. That includes not rising to baits & chirps, I think him realising he's gay makes it worse bc not only is he asian but also gay so he can't have any other faults.

@hudmin13 Yeah but the HR fleece is mostly polyester. These are mostly wool and some even 100% cotton.

This is so unbelievably embarrassing for the fandom that they can’t tell POC apart at all and the actors are making content calling it out. Like none of these people look even remotely alike for this to be happening

Though I have my criticisms over some costume choices in HR, costuming in film is not about who made the prettiest or most intricate things, but about how the wardrobe serves to tell the story. & they did that most very well. Even creating some iconic things like the fleece 🤷🏽‍♀️

Now that it's been six months since the serie came out, we can officially say we understand Shane's breakdown on ep2 during the bathroom scene. Because it was six months since the last time he saw Ilya and was missing him terribly. So now we're on the same page. You're welcome.

@user_300715 I think she’d intimidate him/walk him like a dog & he’d absolutely love it. At 1st he’d worry about the “bro code” but Ilya would find it hilarious & even give him tips like, “Do this. She’ll act like she hates it, but she secretly loves it,” just to give him a fighting chance 💁🏽‍♀️
