@incogles @LewisCarter5 @owenjonesjourno I wouldn’t expect you to have to grapple with his knife to get it off him (injuring yourself in the process). Neither would I expect a police officer to.
English

@sw19cam @LewisCarter5 @owenjonesjourno If you're too much of a weakling to break his grip how you're supposed to, you smash his hand, not his head, genius.

Hold on - what?
If police officers think someone might be carrying explosives, protocol is to kick them in the head repeatedly like this?
Is that actual police protocol?
If so, how is it a wise police protocol?
Can someone explain the reasoning?
Sky News@SkyNews
.@KamaliMelbourne: 'The video of the Golders Green terror attack arrest shows the officers kicking this individual in the head. Is that appropriate force to use?' Met Police Commissioner: "In most situations it wouldn't be reasonable, but in that situation it was reasonable."

@MSTR_Contender @LewisCarter5 @owenjonesjourno What was the more effective and fast way of doing it then?:) asking him nicely? :)
English

@sw19cam @LewisCarter5 @owenjonesjourno It looked so nice effect that 3 men at the same time took minutes to get the knife out of his hand
Wow

@LewisCarter5 @owenjonesjourno Looks the most effective way to get his knife from him to be fair. It’s never going to be a nice situation - a guy stabbing people isn’t going to give up his knife on a gentleman’s head nod. At the point of having to use the taser I’m afraid it looks proportional to me…
English

@owenjonesjourno I think it’s an effective way to stop the threat. I think it’s an effective way of stopping the male getting back up to continue stabbing people.

@LozzaFox I think we’re happy for you to go and live in Russia to be closer to them . Ciao! :)

I must have emailed @NewhamLondon 50 times about this pavement parking. Someone is going to get hurt allowing LGVs and pedestrians (and cyclists) to rub shoulders.

I recently got stopped & ticketed by the City of London Police for, & I kid you not, “cycling no handed”. Even though it’s clearly not an offence, the officer said they were ticketing me under the Human Rights Act as I was infringing other people’s Article 2 ‘Right to Life’, in case I fell off & injured them: utterly bonkers stuff.
With bicycle theft basically legalised in the City due to the complete failure of the Police to bother investigating such thefts & people being regularly terrorised in London by e-bike phone muggers, it’s good to see the City of London Police concentrating the resources on what really matters.

We've launched our summer campaign Safer City Streets. The campaign focuses on offences that matter to communities, like cyclists going through red lights. Nearly 300 cyclists have received fixed penalty notices for going through red lights so far this year.
