Hi Jesse, The SKI community has been around since April 9, 2024. From day one, we’ve been intentional about onboarding people to Base, and today we represent a community of 330,000+ holders who showed up organically not because we were told to, but because they believed in the culture. SKI has always been community-first, not influencer-first. We didn’t rely on a single loud KOL, paid promotions, or a VC-driven narrative. Our growth came from everyday users sharing memes, onboarding friends, and holding through volatility. Despite the adversity that 2025 has brought across the market, SKI has continued to hold strong when many others couldn’t. What’s disappointing is that, despite this consistency and loyalty, Base has never given SKI the opportunity of a listing or meaningful recognition. And yet, compared to many projects that have received support, our community continues to show stronger resilience and engagement. I’m especially disheartened by Base’s recent forced push toward creator coins, which feels disconnected from the communities that helped build Base in the first place. Instead of empowering the existing Base-native communities, it appears focus has shifted toward short-term experiments that lack staying power. What makes this harder to understand is that people genuinely associate SKI with Base itself, not just as another token, but as part of Base culture. Other exchanges like Kraken and Binance have already taken steps to recognize this, yet Base our own ecosystem has not. That disconnect is difficult to ignore. It’s a shame, because SKI has proven staying power, cultural relevance, and a committed user base. The potential here is real. We’re not asking for favours just acknowledgment of a community that has consistently shown up and helped grow Base from the ground up. @jessepollak @brian_armstrong
