Sunnah just means tradition. Shias also say they follow the Sunnah. Sunnah according to Sunnis is following the 4 caliphs. Sunnah according to Shias is following the legacy of Muhammad and his family. Though the only Sunnahs are either Sunni or Shia. You can’t pick and choose so it is confusing
