@ham_and_eggers @arielhelwani They would be picking up a yearly gigantic market by running USA when WWE is in Saudi Arabia. There are tens of thousands that plan a yearly trip to Wrestlemania that won’t go to Saudi. AEW will be the biggest babyface ever by picking up those crumbs. What is hard to understand?

There appears to be a lot of positivity surrounding AEW right now, during a time when people seem frustrated with the WWE product. There definitely seems to be a moment we’re building toward with WWE heading to Saudi Arabia for WrestleMania. As many have said, there’s an opportunity to do something very special here. Tony Khan could position himself as the biggest babyface in combat sports if he plays his cards right. His demeanor and remarks were very telling. Everything is cyclical, but the AEW product currently feels like it has more soul, and there’s something about that little engine that could.

What exactly is achieved by running Mania weekend? The fans who would have gone to Mania anywhere else that are not fans of AEW aren’t going to purchase tickets to whatever Tony runs. 95% of the crossover fanbase between AEW & WWE that are watching at home are going to watch Mania over whatever AEW runs. They have one of their biggest shows coming up right after Mania in Double or Nothing. Why would AEW try to run a big show in April & then turn around & run another big show 1 month later. Even if they tried to do a stadium, last year’s All In proved they can’t fill a stadium in the US at the moment. A lot would have to change in the next year for running against Mania to be any type of success. For a guy who says he doesn’t focus on the competition, this is definitely focusing on the competition & not in a good way.

I was kicking myself for not going live while watching it. I’m almost certain I’m going live Wednesday even though I’m not a fan of the Liacouras Center.
