Last day in the lab this semester. Our students analyzed 800 ceramic sherds, 5500 pieces of daub, 3600 pieces of fire-cracked rock, 300 groundstone tool frags, and a whopping 16,160 pieces of lithic debitage. That’s nearly 1/2 of what we found in 2025. Thanks for the hard work!

Home! Almost 3,000 miles on the car, a successful (and memorable) wedding for my daughter, and no one killed anyone in the process. I will consider this a success 😂

Spiro Mounds is slightly outside this warning but we’ll probably have a pretty squishy field school setup day tomorrow!

Our field school at Spiro Mounds starts in 5 days. That snuck up on me pretty fast. So much to do before then. But I am still excited. 24 students! And we will have visitors from the Caddo and Wichita Nations (descendants of the Spiroans and who support our work).
