@archeroo No, it's exactly what I thought #stfc should do. Need to keep the momentum going, last time we had the international break or weather break, we lost form. Also we need to keep the games spread out and not bunched up. Scanlon not playing. Mabete fringe, Hoillet only plays 45 mins

Anyone else puzzled why we haven’t called off Saturdays game with 3 players on international duty and some injuries? Seems stupid to not have an extra week to recharge/recover

@onu_slim Speaking from my experience this is nonsense. I am actively doing, and planning lots of things to do in the next 10 years, I don't have time to think about all the many things I've done in the past, too much still to do, make the most of every day! Carpe Diem!

Something I have noticed about age 67 is that life becomes painfully quiet, and in that quiet, the truth finally speaks. The noise is gone, the rush is gone, the need to prove anything to anyone has faded. What remains is you, your memories, and the weight of the choices you made when you still had time. At that age, you don’t argue with reality anymore, you sit with it. At 67, people are not chasing life, they are reviewing it. The conversations are slower, the laughter is softer, and sometimes, the silence says more than words ever could. You begin to feel the absence of people who once filled your world, and you realize that time didn’t just pass, it took things with it. It is also the age where regrets become clearer than dreams. The chances you didn’t take, the love you didn’t express, the time you wasted trying to be everything except yourself, these things don’t shout, they sit quietly in your chest. And yet, there is a strange kind of wisdom that comes with it, a deep understanding that life was never about how fast you moved, but how well you lived. At 67, the truth is no longer negotiable, it simply stands in front of you, asking one question: Did you truly live, or did you just pass through time?

@stfc_1969 Why? Scanlon and Mabete hardly feature and Hoilett only plays 45mins. Better to keep the schedule I would have thought

@henrywinter I'm afraid many people will think that there is corruption involved - given the legal cases that are involved over much more minor infringements of rules (e.g. Swindon Town being kicked out of the Vertu Cup this year), this has to see the forensic disinfectant of sunlight

At some point, senior Premier League execs have to offer a proper explanation in public for their leniency towards Chelsea. They owe an explanation to fans of clubs punished more harshly. They owe an explanation to those clubs who did abide by the rules. They have to offer some explanation as to why PSR breaches are deemed far more serious than acts of "deception and concealment". Yes, these are the offences of a previous regime at Chelsea. But inconsistencies run through the PL's defence and their reputation is damaged. They can’t hide from a controversy of this magnitude.

A big decision coming soon for Keir Starmer: can Britain really allow the King to pay a state visit to the US when Pres Trump is so publicly insulting to the UK?

London has built lots of flats…but few people want to buy them Since 2014, some 20,000 flats have been completed in Wandsworth. But nearly 40% of modern flats there have sold at a loss in the last 5 years archive.is/A3rfy

@henrywinter Not very realistic - sounds like it has been written by some risk averse person who has no real experience of what L1 / L2 clubs are like

New licensing system for the 116 clubs in Premier League, EFL and National League requires them to hold “sufficient resources” to steer them away from any potential “cliff edge”. Level of risk will be assessed on a club-by-club basis by Independent Football Regulator. From 2027/2028 season, clubs in the top five divisions will require a licence from the IFR in order to compete. Clubs need to show liquidity to meet their financial commitments and cope with "stress" such as relegation or withdrawal of owner funding. Club liquidity will be monitored on an ongoing basis by the IFR which can also impose measures such as “reducing expenditure or restructuring debt”. (Players not counted as liquid assets as “clubs cannot readily realise their value outside transfer windows”). Clubs must also show evidence of “having meaningfully consulted" with fans. “It cannot be right that so many clubs exist on a cliff edge where one change could threaten their entire existence – fans should be debating formations not finances,” says IFR CEO Richard Monks. “Our licensing regime will ensure that club risk is managed appropriately, creating a more stable environment for growth and investment.” Four “key risk factors” that IFR expects clubs to “monitor and mitigate” are... *Business Model – funding gaps between income and costs. *Liquidity & Cash flow – the ability to meet short-term financial obligations. *Solvency and Debt – risks to operating in the medium to long term. *Governance – adequacy of financial decision-making and risk management.

@DurhamWASP Sundays could be dull, but now they're no different from any other day, no day of rest. I rather wish the Sunday Trading Act 1994 had never been passed. Ironic that it was John Major's government, he of “old maids bicycling to Holy Communion through the morning mist” which did it

@TownEndersSTFC Interestingly that would also agree with what a fan who has been following STFC/football for years would think. My current estimate for final points total for Swindon is 76, based on the remaining fixtures. Alternative requires CamU to lose form and Swindon to gain - unlikely
