This scene actually has a lot more depth and I really like this scene. It is not just a romantic or intimate moment. It’s about two people quietly lying to each other out of love, trying to protect each other through lies. The lighting already says so much. Whoever is backlit is the one hiding something. It looks warm and intimate but emotionally it is not peaceful. Prim is trying to make Bambi believe that everything is fine, Min can handle the work and Bambi is not a burden to her. But Bambi already knows everything. She heard conversation between Min and Prim and even before that I think she had already sensed that Prim had given up something important for her. That completely changes the meaning of Bambi bringing up “I broke up with you because I thought I was a burden to your work.” It’s more like she wants Prim to tell her the truth. But Prim chooses to comfort her instead. “No, Min can handle it” and “Things are going well” These are soft lies, the kind people tell when they do not want the person they love to feel guilty. “My goal in my life is to make you happy” “You are doing it right now” But Bambi is also pretending. The love scene does not feel like Bambi suddenly became completely happy or healed. It feels more like Bambi trying to convince Prim that she is okay, still smiling, still trying to give something back. Almost like she wants to create one beautiful perfect moment before reality catches up with them. I don’t think Prim is that unaware either. There is no way she can’t feel that something is off. Prim probably understands that Bambi is forcing herself to be okay, trying to create one beautiful memory before everything falls apart. Yet emotionally, Prim still chooses to accept that moment of happiness instead of exposing the pain between them. The way she closes her eyes and stays in that moment feels like she is choosing not to look too deeply because if she does everything they are holding together might fall apart. Her silence and the way she responds feel like someone who subconsciously knows the truth but chooses comfort over confrontation in that moment. So the whole scene becomes heartbreaking because both of them are lying to each other. Prim doesn’t want Bambi to feel guilty and Bambi doesn’t want Prim to worry. They are both desperately trying to protect each other while silently breaking apart inside. That’s why I feel this scene is both intimate and emotionally devastating at the same time. When you connect it with the next day's plot Fa fainting and the later reveals that Bambi heard the conversation scenes, the emotional flow actually makes sense. It connects back to sacrifice, responsibility, guilt and the danger of pretending everything is fine. So I really don’t think the problem is the idea of the scenes. The real problem is the editing and narrative structure. 每集都想骂剪辑师和制作团😬 The team keeps cutting between different couples and storylines within the same episode, which weakens the emotional immersion. Viewers end up having to piece the emotional timeline together themselves.
