Hey @ILSecOfState, it’s time to crack down on the abuse of “In Transit” license plates that are meant for car transporters. I see people driving cars with these plates on a daily basis that are clearly being used for personal use.

Sorry @Tesla_Analyst you can block me all you want, but the fact remains that THE biggest complaint by the general public of the Cybertruck is its design. It also has several design flaws.

When you buy celery, scallions, parsley, cilantro, and probably several other herbs and vegetables, the stem tissue is still alive, so treat them like flowers - trim off the dried out ends and stick em in jars of water. They'll keep much much longer without wilting.
SyntheticBlinkerFluid@synblinkerfluid

@NixAshes Damn I like the mason jar idea, especially for the cilantro.

It’s the entitlement America speaking up. AC is very expensive here, congrats you could afford it. Not only is it very expensive to buy one it’s also expensive to RUN IT here.
Hera Kita 🪓🐾Final Girl VTuber@xHeraKita

As an American who has lived in London/the UK for the last 6 years I'm convinced UK people just hate being comfortable and hate convenience. You have BEEN getting heatwaves at least the last 6 years. After the first 3 years of heatwaves you should have gotten a small air con unit for at least just your bedroom. Buying it in the winter would also have made it much less expensive. "But it's only for a few weeks!!" So you won't get an AC window unit to use for a couple days and would rather constantly complain about it??? "But it's expensive!!" You say UK houses retain heat (Which is always hilarious to me because in the winter, as soon as the heating goes off, the houses are ice cold), but you never talk about how SMALL a UK house is. Using it even just at night for comfortable sleeping for the small handful of days you say you would need it just won't break the bank like you're making it seem. You get one small air con unit off Amazon for £200. You can wheel it to whatever room you need it in, or just keep it in your bedroom and only use it then. But whatever, keep wrapping your wet blankets or whatever you do around your necks. You're allowed to be upset people don't understand your weather and why it's so detrimental. You can, and should, be upset about global warming. But not doing anything about it for yourself is so aggravating.

@synblinkerfluid @chefkernal Yes that's why i bought it. Used it to somewhat cool our living room. So far haven't had to use it this week since i've been able to keep the heat out (for now)

@ben_bagelbites It used to be extremely common on trucks with slide in bed campers. Growing up in the 80’s and 90’s, there were a lot of “Camper Special” trucks from the 70’s still running around with front mounted spares.

Feel like front bumper spares never caught on as much in the U.S. I just saw one for the first time in years.

@RealJohnShoe @chefkernal Seriously. They think we’re being ignorant and we’re literally telling them to buy a $250 portable A/C unit for these heat waves so they’re not suffering.

Y’all need to either stop with this shit or move to Europe since you think the food is so much better and you can walk to get it without using a car. Almost every first world county has a plethora of processed bullshit on their grocery shelves and people have to drive to get it.

Other countries: Fresh, affordable food available within walking distance of every neighborhood. U.S.: 15 brands of genetically modified hyper-processed ice cream that requires a $35,000 vehicle to access.

@000_three I want to do a period build on my Mk2 Jetta and I bought a period correct Clarion tape deck and graphic equalizer. As I’ve gotten older, I’ve gotten more and more into vintage stereo equipment for cars.

@localcheetowife Yes. Chicago’s shoreline is mostly man made. It didn’t reach out as far 150 years ago. The sand for the beaches is brought in from elsewhere, similar to Miami Beach.

@localcheetowife @morg_alexx They are called revetments also known as seawalls or breakers, they actually have a purpose. It’s become known as the Concrete Beach because people use it as such due to space being limited at the actual sand beaches with how popular they are in the summer.
