Super simple demo/proof of concept using @langchain to give an AI agent access to the terminal. The agent opens the browser, searches for Lex Fridman on Youtube, and scrapes the contents of the page. All in less than 15 lines of code.

Vulnerable Oil Pipelines and the UAE’s Existential Delusion If the problem is the closure of the Strait of Hormuz in the event of a conflict, I would say that these ideas only last until the conflict actually begins. Once it starts, both the terminals and the oil pipelines will be bombed. The Gulf countries have not yet understood that they need to reach some kind of arrangement among themselves. And the United States should encourage this, focusing on regional stability. It has become clear that U.S military control of the region no longer exists. The bases only serve to waste money and expose the Arab countries to confrontation with Iran. The Emirates are living in an existential delusion, believing they can return to previous levels of prosperity while maintaining a confrontational stance toward Iran. The UAE is face-to-face with Iran. After what happened in this war, who will invest in Dubai without the certainty that the country has reached an understanding with Iran? The illusion of American protection no longer exists. The same applies to all Gulf countries. Both the appeasement of Iranian-backed militias and the reduction of the American military presence around Iran are political decisions that need to mature through greater dialogue, something that will not be achieved with the confrontational tone the Emirates have maintained. On the contrary, the Emirates are deluded and will see their economy face serious difficulties if they continue down this path. Carrying out persuasion through military encirclement with bases against a missile power is no longer viable today. Decades ago, those bases might have received the occasional imprecise Scud. Today, they face showers of missiles and drones. These bases are no longer practical in the current era, and the same applies to bases in Asia surrounding China, or NATO bases surrounding Russia. The new reality is simple: only underground bases supported by a vast ecosystem will survive future conflicts. The Cold War strategy of containment has proven to be a failure in modern wars. It merely exposes troops to grave danger without delivering real security. The entire model must be completely rethought. The war with Iran has demonstrated that military bases now require a minimum safe distance from adversary missile and drone threats, and even then, they must be built underground. Surface bases have become liabilities rather than assets.

Following Jesus Christ (pbuh) necessarily entails supporting the truth and renouncing anti-truth powers. It is hoped that Christians and Muslims everywhere in the world will keep this great lesson of Jesus Christ (pbuh) alive in their lives and actions. Jan. 2, 1995 #Easter

@powerbottomdad1 due to demographic changes over the past 20 years the risks to these countries of being perceived as aiding the US in this conflict are now substantial and, they could argue, rationally suggest they ought not to ofc long-term might suggest otherwise but they can't think of that

People don't understand how insane the explosion of Christianity was: - There were maybe a thousand Christians at Jesus's death. - In 100 AD there were still only about ten thousand Christians. - One hundred years later it was still less than one percent of the Roman empire. - And then a hundred years later there were over SIX MILLION Christians, more than 10 percent of the population. - Go forward another 150 years and there are over 30 million Christians and it is the official state religion of the Roman empire. It's one of the most stunning transformations in world history. And yet there is wide disagreement on why it occurred.

“After this war, antisemitism will rage globally — Americans will rightly believe that Israel was responsible for the downfall of the American empire.” — Jiang Xueqin But here’s the deeper layer: he argues that for hardline Jews in power, antisemitism will serve as a blessing, a destiny they've been waiting for that will benefit Israel in the long term. So Israel wins either way, while America loses no matter the outcome. Full breakdown on The Sanchez Effect.

“With backing from Russia and China, Iran will emerge stronger than before.” — Jiang Xueqin He explains why Moscow and Beijing will drive Tehran’s post-war recovery — positioning Iran to return more powerful than ever. “In the long run, Iran will come out as a major winner of this war.” Full analysis on The Sanchez Effect.

Today, we visited the Minab school in southern Iran, where US forces massacred 168 students and teachers at the outset of the Trump-Netanyahu war of aggression on Iran. About ten minutes after we left the Minab school today, it was hit with a drone strike. (The aftermath of that strike was captured in this video). Yesterday, we were in the Iranian city of Bushehr, which lies on the Persian Gulf to the north of Minab. Shortly after we left our hotel in Bushehr, there was an airstrike on a target directly across the street from our hotel. While we were in Bushehr, we visited a marine terminal that had sustained damage in airstrikes conducted earlier this month. Shortly after we left the marine terminal, it too was hit with an airstrike. Another site that we visited in Bushehr yesterday was also hit with an airstrike shortly after we left it. Now all of this could be random. On the other hand, it may be that U.S.-Israeli forces are sending us a message. If in fact they are sending us a message, we have a message for them. Our message is that no amount of intimidation will stop us from exposing their monstrous crimes. #Iran #Iranwar

Computer mega temples are being built. AI training & data centers cost more to build than the grandest architecture and biggest non-computer science projects the world has ever built.
Flowers ☾@flowersslop

Its insane how expensive training the biggest models is getting. the Burj Khalifa cost about $1.5B, and CERNs LHC about $4.5B. We’re now nearing a point where training a top model could cost $10B, like 6.5 times the Burj Khalifa.

A huge part of getting good at anything is simply making a lot of stuff. I mean volume. Repetition. Doing things over and over again. Especially when you’re starting out, you think the people who are good must have found some secret. Like they’re more talented, or more confident, or they know something you don’t. But usually, what they’ve really done is make far more work than you realize. Probably things no one has ever seen. They might not even want to share it because it's bad. They’ve gone through draft after draft, project after project, attempt after attempt. They’ve made enough things to get strong. That’s the most underestimated aspect of greatness. Quantity leads to quality. You do a large body of work, and inside that body of work, you begin to notice things. You notice your habits. You notice your weaknesses. You notice what keeps failing, what keeps working. You cannot learn those lessons just by thinking about the work. You only learn them by making the work. And a lot of people quit too early. They make a few things, maybe even a few dozen things, and because the work doesn’t yet look the way they want it to, they decide they’re not good enough. But that’s not what’s happening. What’s happening is that they’re still in the process. Trust the process. More than anything else, especially when you suck and it’s painful. You have to give yourself permission to make a lot. To make imperfect things. Bad things. Things you feel ashamed to show. Because every finished piece is teaching you something. Every attempt is building judgment. The people who get good are very often just the people who stay in the game long enough to let the process work on them. Keep producing. Make stuff. Many stuff. A lot of stuff. Put yourself on a rhythm if you can. The path is to work. Do more. Finish more. Learn more. Trust that you arrive at quality through quantity.
