I’ve rewatched #ObsessionMovie a few times now, and honestly, the collective internet consensus blaming Bear for everything is getting kind of exhausting. ​If you actually look at the character dynamics cleanly, Nikki is 100% the villain of this story from frame one. Bear is literally just a grieving, lonely guy who made a desperate wish in a moment of vulnerability, which is a deeply human flaw. He didn't ask for a monster; he asked for a partner. ​Nikki, on the other hand, actively chooses how she executes that reality. People love to hide behind the "she's a glitched algorithm/vessel" excuse, but she clearly retains enough cognitive awareness to manipulate situations. The rigid eye contact, the constant tracking, the silent doorway lurking was not a software error, rather it was a calculated power move to keep him psychologically destabilized and dependent on her. She weaponizes his guilt and loneliness to justify being an absolute nightmare of a partner, completely avoiding any accountability for her actions. ​Bear spent the entire second half of the film frantically trying to manage her, de-escalate her behavior, and find a compromise. Nikki didn't even try. She chose to become a toxic, possessive force because it gave her total control over the relationship. Bear isn't a manipulator; he’s a victim of a partner who used a supernatural loophole to unleash her worst, most controlling impulses without a filter.
