@Hero_of_Legend1 @ennui365 I believe they were in the process of getting him closer to cuff him, but things went haywire. "You're Fucked" isn't a good look and shouldn't be allowed by a law enforcement officer, that's not "Serving and Protecting".

@t8ishop @ennui365 Yes, they do come to you to cuff you. Specifically because they want you to be as motionless as possible. I bet you also didn’t know the shooting officer had “You’re Fucked” scratched into his scope’s dust cover. Kinda hints that death was always the plan, doesn’t it?

Crawling is odd, yes. But I think they just wanted him away from his room. Contradictory orders may have happened, but that can happen when you have more than one person barking orders. If I were in that situation, I would have been on the floor and left my hands spread out, until the police were sure they had control. Nobody is perfect, but I don't believe it's systematic brutality.

@t8ishop @ennui365 In a manner in which no intelligent person would assume is reaching for a gun. He *DID*. They intentionally gave confusing and contradictory orders, specifically to force him into making a fatal mistake. For 1, didn’t you think it was odd that they had him crawl to them?

I don't "damn well know it", actually. I didn't know who he was, then decided to look it up and that's what the story said. They don't normally just come and cuff you if they suspect you are armed, they were in the process and then he made a move they thought was an aggressive move toward a possible weapon.

The video I saw shows him reaching for his waist just before he was shot. He should have complied with orders, kept his hands visible and kept his hands on the floor. The police were called and present because he was seen pointing a rifle out of his hotel window. It was later to be found a pellet gun, but that's difficult to differentiate at a distance by random individuals. Having a rifle and waving it out of a hotel window seems like a valid reason for the police to be there. But I'm just the unreasonable one.

@t8ishop @ennui365 No he didn’t. There was no grounds by which any reasonable person would think he was reaching for a gun. Period. “Already having police there with guns drawn” for no valid reason. There was no justification for their presence, let alone armed response. He was murdered.

In America today, wealth inequality has become so extreme that the top 1% now own as much stock and mutual funds as the bottom 99% combined. No democracy is sustainable when so few have so much while so many have so little. We need an economy that works for all, not the 1%.
