@kutegyekaivan1 That’s true. But the land title(s) is most likely a very old one. Because to get 1 acre in that area is either an old title or a series of titles combined.

This young woman was off on a run, she’s taking the route she normally does for a long time now. On the way see runs with her little brother and even sees her sister out running as well. As the sun sets she’s on her final stretch of her run and she’s approaching where she started out again. She sees two men on the sidewalk and right as she is about to run past them they try to grab her and take her, one of the men lunge at her as to almost tackle her and stop her in her tracks. Even after running for miles she musters up the strength in her to run away as fast as she can. It’s safe to say this is why people use treadmills but if this was you would this discourage you from running outside again, what would you do?

@scottmwine @solomonking That’s true but I think we need more shared actions or verbs not more nouns… doing a thing together consistently usually bonds people more easily. Not calling them a thing and hoping it bonds them. Identity and action tend to gel.

@t_latim @solomonking We already have shared symbols that unite us as Ugandans beyond tribal/regional identity layer: the flag, the name itself, common foods etc. Maybe its about creating a single Ugandan architectural style, but combining key elements that create a uniquely Ugandan identity.

Do we have any Ugandan architecture or building style that is so distinctly unique that people can point and say "that's Ugandan." (Aside from Masaka roofs that are basically church spires.)

@scottmwine @solomonking Over the next few months I’m keen to research ethnic architecture particular to each region and culture and see how that evolves or works.

@scottmwine @solomonking What I’m more curious about is whether that school can serve to unite us, or will we still have our smaller internal factions? And what it will take to actually create something that we wholistically all call Ugandan.

Ehhh power has mood swings, internet has shut downs, roads are impassable, we have absolutely no control of the water when it rains which is practically half the year. Is there one piece of infrastructure that is reliable 60 days consecutively that you guys know of?

Is there any core infrastructural system that in a period of 30 days isn’t broken for 5 or 7 days in Uganda? Roads? Internet? Water? Power? Air? Banks? Phone?

One thing I love about Uganda is they really believe in their own (manufacturing) sauce. In a 6 hour meeting earlier this week, I was being told about Kenyan tea producers who import natural ingredients that can easily grow in Kenya at scale. In Uganda, almost everything is produced there. Even hair relaxer.

Good morning, Uganda 🇺🇬! As we step into a new year, what is your boldest transport infrastructure dream for our country? An expressway, a modern rail network, safer roads, modern ferries or smarter public transport? Share your vision. Let’s imagine it together! Happy New Year! [📷Ai]

@MoWT_Uganda how often do you get to fix the damaged rails on the northern bypass? For Christmas if you could make those roads safer again we would be very pleased
