A common mistake i see: assuming founder market fit as a product or market question
founder market fit is a distribution question
Sometimes these things are conflated bc PLG is similar or market familiarity = Rolodex
But the ultimate founder q is: can you get customers

the easiest PMF in consumer is making people think they’ll get rich quick using your product the base motivation to use lovable/replit or kalshi/polymarket is identical even though the products couldn’t be more different

the people are amazing, but the social infrastructure is exceedingly poor. the floor is low, but the peaks are high

since moving to SF this year, i keep running into this specific type of person whom i try to avoid whenever i can. the transactional type. you meet them and you can feel them instantly calculating where you sit in whatever hierarchy they track and what they can get from you. these people are exhausting to encounter because they're trying to extract, not build. they don't understand social capital or how to use it correctly and they aren't even aware of what they're doing. I love SF but it’s unfortunately crawling with these people. the longer i live here, the more i find myself staying away from big parties that are swarming with these transactional types and enjoying smaller gatherings, little pockets where i can just be with my friends who just want to laugh with me and work on cool stuff. i’m v grateful for all the amazing friends i’ve made here this year, the ones who are genuine and make living in SF actually feel amazing.

@jnnnthnn Do you think the quicker feedback loop makes you quicker at coming up with elegant solutions though? Which won’t necessarily solve your bottleneck situation but it will allow for faster elegant solution generation which I think is still a plus

i’m a very fast programmer. llms have made me somewhat faster, and they’ve certainly made my job more enjoyable. but interestingly the bottleneck remains my ability to come up with elegant solutions to problems, and no matter how fast i get, that still feels way too slow.
