since moving to SF this year, i keep running into this specific type of person whom i try to avoid whenever i can. the transactional type. you meet them and you can feel them instantly calculating where you sit in whatever hierarchy they track and what they can get from you. these people are exhausting to encounter because they're trying to extract, not build. they don't understand social capital or how to use it correctly and they aren't even aware of what they're doing. I love SF but it’s unfortunately crawling with these people. the longer i live here, the more i find myself staying away from big parties that are swarming with these transactional types and enjoying smaller gatherings, little pockets where i can just be with my friends who just want to laugh with me and work on cool stuff. i’m v grateful for all the amazing friends i’ve made here this year, the ones who are genuine and make living in SF actually feel amazing.

So, what is the correct answer and why? Hint: It is not the answer that got the most votes i.e. not your unique world-view. In fact, that is the least useful of the 4 options in the poll, if you want to improve your Taste, in practice, in the real world, on real products.
