Much like the rest of the schizophrenia community, I have been excited about the development of a new type of antipsychotic that is now available by the name of Cobenfy (previously KarXT) brought to market by @bmsnews (Bristol Myers Squibb). I think though, that what is exciting about this is getting a little bit confused. I dive more into this and the latest study findings around the efficacy of Cobenfy - and what this means for patients living with schizophrenia who may be interested in trying it. Beyond the somewhat disappointing latest trial results, we are still greatly missing the mark by still just treating the symptoms of schizophrenia as opposed to healing the underlying reasons why those symptoms are occurring. I strongly encourage anyone curious about treating the underlying causes of mental illness to go to @Metabolic_Mind to learn more about the truly game changing work being done exploring the connection between metabolism and brain health.
