@burkeholland @github The only thing I don't like about Copilot is that it asks me for permissions to do everything. I like how opencode only prompts you if it tries to access stuff outside of your repo like on your computer. Makes me 10x more productive. Just let it do its thing. 😂

#skills in #vcode is not working very well, most of the time it never checks the skills, even with multiple correct syntaxes :-) Claude want me to report it because it tried everything but misses almost everytime. @code

@digitarald @code not really, I still have ”skills” hope. but it is going to take a lot of self-disciplin. the bigger my project gets the more premium request I use.

@tadrian @code Yes, its night and day; and often reflected in where AI influencers are really successful. I am just writing a guide for making AI work better in large brownfield codebases. Anything you found that tamed it at least somewhat?

@digitarald @code prompts, instructions, modes , skills etc are all nice additions. but what these guides never tell you is that AI cant be tamed. small code bases or start fresh works best.

@tadrian @code Are you trying to SEO-optimize your description? I wonder if if needs more a "when and how to use" style. But let me put something similar in our evals as you seem to observe that this works as expected in other agents, right?

@digitarald @code I have this skill, and it has been tweaked many times by sonnet so that it should always trigger as soon as I type the word scenario. sometimes it does, but I do not want to use to many premium requests to test it. another problem is as the context grows the ai forgets the skill

@tadrian @code I did file an issue in our site to have more evals on skill loading as our current system prompt is very lightweight. As you said "never", I wonder if its some misconfiguration. When you ask the agent to list its skills, does it find them?

@pierceboggan @code @digitarald that is no possible I am afraid, but the problem with all these instruction files is that you never know when AI decide to use and follow them. today all of a sudden opus started saying that it reads my modes, never seen that before.

I dont really understand the Opus 4.5 hype, people must be doing too simple apps. when the code based get complex it will struggle #vscode #csharp
