Until we get to some form of Star Trek utopia society where money and the notion of “income” are meaningless, it’s going to be a difficult struggle that mostly likely will be violet, even if just large portions of jobs suddenly and irrevocably get replaced by automation.

Universal HIGH INCOME via checks issued by the Federal government is the best way to deal with unemployment caused by AI. AI/robotics will produce goods & services far in excess of the increase in the money supply, so there will not be inflation.

@lostinproxies I thought I was the only one who does this. Mainly, though, it’s because I don’t want to spend 2 hours watching a 0-20%RT film most of the time. I love scary movies, so some times nothing is worse than a horrible one. (Same if I don’t want to watch a movie dubbed or subtitled.)

Did you know that if the plot of a scary movie sounds interesting but you're too chicken to actually watch it, you can just read the Wikipedia entry instead? I've "watched" many, many scary movies like this. And yeah, the haters hate but I don't let that stop me

@dynomight7 You're misrepresenting things. Attribution is giving in the section listing sources. You just don't like how that's been done. And yes, writing a thread of short blurbs that summarize parts of blogposts, recent papers, etc. is both normal and acceptable.

Upon reflection, I think it's fair to say Crémieux plagarized this thread from me. Try this in school: Take the whole argument and huge sections of text (unattributed) from some other source, but put some tiny offhand reference at the end. Your teacher will call that plagarism.

@dieworkwear Got any tips for a smaller framed guy who likes to dress up, but lives in Florida & concealed carries? Makes tucking in shirts hard because of the carry, and heavy layers (which could hide a shoulder holster) are too hot.

@ThatGuyM88 I’m not “led to believe” anything. All my observations are firsthand. If you have a theory like that, test it and attempt to disprove it, maybe you have something. Until then, it’s just a claim which doesn’t mean much to the people that study these things full time and disagree.

@cremieuxrecueil Planes can just fly faster. For example, a flight I took yesterday had a filed flight speed of 488mph at 29,000 ft, but for most of the flight we were going 588mph.
