After self-hosting my email for twenty-three years I have thrown in the towel 😩 Email is now an oligopoly, a service gatekept by a few big companies which does not follow the principles of net neutrality.

@cfenollosa I have been running dedicated mail servers for personal and corporate use since 1997. I do not have the same experience as you do, it is doable... but it is hard and requires time. Public Internet is a different place, it is ultimately hostile and no longer point-to-point.
