That’s not a single, unified voice, it’s a compilation of texts, which is why people interpret it in so many different ways.

@imaginebeingdu Leviticus laws were part of ancient Israel’s culture, many of which Christians no longer follow, if you take them literally on homosexuality, you’d have to follow dozens of other outdated rules too, which y’all don’t. And in Roman’s it talking about lust.

@leocondra @herchosenpath How do you decide what counts as a teaching and what doesn’t? Because the same can go for homosexuality, it is mentioned in the Bible as part of the culture of that time, but neither Jesus nor God explicitly calls it a sin.

Everything documented in there is not a teaching or is indicative of the values but more so a documentation of the culture. The Bible documents murders, lies, cheating etc but directly tells us it’s a a sin
