マイク・フラナガンって過小評価されてると思うんだよな 「サンキュー、チャック」がオスカーにまったく絡まなかったのもそうだし(別に賞がすべてではないんだが)、 「真夜中のミサ」がエミー賞でほぼ無視されたのも全然納得いってない。

サンキュー、チャック好きな人Netflixで真夜中のミサ(TVシリーズ)も観てほしい。 贖罪の話で基本ホラーなんだけど言葉に表し難い感動と余韻が残る傑作です。 チャックにも出てたフラナガン作品の常連役者たちがいっぱい出てます。 ダンス部の先生がめちゃくちゃ悪役で出てきます。

「◯歳から人はおかしくなる」「素敵な人だと思っていたのに、態度や言動が痛々しくなった」は「含羞を失った」ってことじゃないかと思う。照れ・恥じらいがあるうちは大丈夫。 色々あるけどイーストウッドの映画が清潔さを保っているのは、ずっと含羞があるから。

そんな訳で、ようやく後れ馳せながらNetflix 『地獄に堕ちるわよ』鑑賞開始。取り敢えず第4話まで観たが、うん…これは一気に行くわ。序盤から明らかに人の心理を撹乱する術に長けた「信頼できない語り手」による、波乱万丈過ぎる人生回顧の面白さ。細木数子=まさに日本に実在したトニー・モンタナか。

2026年、海外テレビシリーズに関してだけ言うと「ウィドウズ・ベイ」のほか「フレンズ＆ネイバーズ」S2と（タナソーさんもオススメの）「マーゴのマネートラブル」の真っ最中で、来月には待望の「シュガー」S2、夏には「テッド・ラッソ」S4も控えてるApple TVが独走すぎる。相変わらず（一作除いて）主人公は白人中年男性ばかりだけど（笑）

「ウィドウズ・ベイ」配信済E2まで。全10エピソードの半分をヒロ・ムライが演出。果たしてこれはホラーなのかコメディなのか、というのはまさにヒロ・ムライの作風なんだけど、本作に関してはショーランナーのケイティ・ディポルドの作品という見方をした方が良さそう。脚本がタイ・ウェスト作品っぽいくどさだなーと思ったら、タイ・ウェストも演出で参加してた（笑）
