Kylian Mbappé is back and has finally hit that legendary rhythm everyone expected, and with Vinícius Júnior operating behind him, Real is essentially guaranteed to find the back of the net, especially at home. They’ve scored in every single home game this season, and in a derby where the atmosphere is this intense, the "Galacticos 3.0" aren't going to be kept quiet. However, they’ve been winning, but they’re conceding in almost every "big" game they play. Now, let's talk about Atleti. If you’re still thinking about the "Park the Bus" version of Diego Simeone’s squad, you’re living in 2018. This 2026 Atletico side is a different beast. Julián Álvarez the "Spider" has been an absolute revelation since he fully integrated, and his partnership with Antoine Griezmann is pure telepathy. Griezmann might be in the twilight of his career, but his IQ in these derbies is off the charts. They’ve moved to a much more aggressive, transition heavy style that specifically punishes high defensive lines like Real’s. Plus, Atleti has a massive chip on their shoulder after that controversial Supercopa loss earlier this year, they are going to come out swinging. The history doesn't lie here either. If you look at the last five or six editions of El Derbi, these games have turned into absolute shootouts. Both teams have too much world-class attacking talent and, frankly, too much pride to just sit back and play for a 0-0.
