shiva, talia etc have had their entire characterisation upended in service of their children & that is NOT a good thing! these characters have decades of stories before their children, they are not just Mothers, they are individuals who are consistently written poorly by writers

the average dc writer genuinely has nothing of value to say about motherhood they'll just sacrifice every ounce of independence these women once had to prioritize their children and then act like it's this powerful statement

but when we say a female character becoming a mother in dc holds them back in every way we're in the wrong...

I’m also not against talia being angry about losing her loved ones but it just needs to be written in the right way. talia is not a woman out of control, even when faced with the notion of permanently losing ra’s

like not saying she should burst into tears afterward like she did w darrk but it should be something that comes from an emotional extreme and not be a normal everyday reaction for her

if writers #cared about talia they would relate/parallel these emotional moments of losing ra’s/bruce to these villains to the moment she saved bruce from darrk in her first appearance but…… wishful thinking

I'm not particularly interested in that new Lego Batman on account of it having none of my big faves - Cass, Steph, Jean-Paul, Helena, etc. - but it makes me happy they've got the Denny Bruce and Talia. I am almost tempted to play it with my SO just to be the cringe e-couple
