Novalis life is one of the saddest stories I've read about.
In 1797, his 15 year old fiancee Sophia passed away. In the same year, his little brother Erasmus died due to an illness. Then, the 13 y/o Bernhard drowned, a year prior to Novalis death. Reaching 28, he died in 1801.

Heterodoxy was a Persian thing. The Anatolian Turks were pretty much heterodox too, but this disappeared already in the early 14th Century.

Reminder that philosophers like Nietzsche who glazed islam actually liked its secularized and orientalistic version, which they didnt directly see. Curious on how those intellectuals would react to modern islam, which is completely different from the one they knew centuries ago

But there's something called reality, Somalis doing bad things in Minnesota causes the US gov financing less wars in MENA. Not the ideal approach but better than nothing

@antigrabez I don't think so. As far as I know, the most part of Pakistan was never Hindu but Buddhist and believed in other things like that. The reason Indians are the way they are is partly because of Hindu traditions
