After the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to launch a License Passporting Framework, Governor @SorayaMHlive noted that the new License Passporting Framework is designed to enable seamless operations of Payment Service Providers across Rwanda, Ghana, and Kenya promoting innovation, competition, and broader access to efficient digital payment solutions. Today, the #AfCFTA Secretariat, Quest Ghana Limited and the government of the Republic of Seychelles signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to advance Seychelles’ digital economy, and digital trade under the AfCFTA. The collaboration aims to position Seychelles as a competitive digital trade hub, enabling businesses to participate more effectively in the digital economy. A technical meeting was held between H.E. Wamkele Mene and Hon. Pierre Laporte, Minister for Finance, Economic Planning, Trade and Investment of Seychelles, together with their respective teams. The discussions provided a deep dive into avenues for concrete collaboration to support Seychelles’ export diversification and regional integration efforts under the AfCFTA. Particular focus was placed on opportunities arising from the AfCFTA Digital Trade Protocol, including the expansion of digital services. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening cooperation to ensure Seychelles can effectively leverage #AfCFTA instruments to enhance competitiveness and expand its presence in African markets. #AfCFTA #DigitalTrade #Seychelles #IntraAfricanTrade
