@AndrossSF0 Bergsala AB is quite a story - and if you're curious about it there's something exciting coming next week...😁

Official Super Mario Bros. 3 talking alarm clock (Zeon, 1992). At the set time, the alarm sounds by saying "Wake up! It's time to leave Dreamland", followed by a shortened sample of the game's World 1 map music. The alarm can be snoozed by pressing a small red mushroom.

@theamazingcliff They're fun! Ran one dungeon-master style with the kids using photocopied puzzles. They loved it so much I have more on the way 😀

Front cover of "Pipe Down", a Nintendo choose-your-own-adventure/puzzle book. Events take place around Princess Peach's 99th birthday ("in fungus years") and features a rare appearance of her father the Mushroom King who is described as forgetful and "never much use in a crisis".

Manual scan of "Para-Goomba" from Mario Clash (Virtual Boy, 1995). Despite looking familiar, is a completely unique enemy. By modern naming, it is a Flying Galoomba with spikes, a variant which has never appeared in any other games (apart from WarioWare references to Mario Clash)

Thank you! A pleasure to contribute (and a great excuse to photograph some of my non-Nintendo stuff!). Brill retro podcast especially for those who remember GamesMaster & other retro tv. I'd be a fan even if I didn't have years of experience knowing what a great bloke Ash is!

Photo of the Family Computer Robot and Robot Gyro game (Famicom, 1985), taken from a promotional A4 flyer. Note that the TV is branded "Sharp" - a regular collaborator with Nintendo. (Also note the robot won't work like that as it's facing away from the TV 😁)

Instruction leaflet for the Famicom 3D System (1987); active shutter glasses for full-colour 3D in compatible games. I have a complete, boxed set, so hit "Like" if you want me to post more scans, photos & info of Nintendo's first venture into 3D gaming! #famicomfriday

@MBXfilms I never bought a micro, but I'd LOVE to get my hands on the Famicom special edition micro one day. It looks amazing!

@tamagon64 I always wanted this one. But Game Boy SP is still the peak of Game Boy technology for me. I have a Micro and the SP is still the best.

Cartridge label for "SD Battle Ozumo: Heisei Hero Basho" (Famicom, 1990). The game involves characters from Ultraman (Ultra Series), Kamen Rider, Super Sentai and Gundam coming together to sumo wrestle. (I like to think of it as a very early Super Smash Bros ;) ) #famicomfriday

"Dancing Mario" imitating the Saturday Night Fever dance moves. An illustration from the manual of Family Basic V3 (Famicom, 1985) to humourously illustrate the effect of an intentionality introduced movement bug using the Mario sprite in an example game. #famicomfriday

There is one final character who appears... The "Little Old Lady" who waves the magic flute in order to sound the device's alarm functionality. Here I've used manual scans and a little creativity to recreate the on-screen effect. Happy 35th Birthday, Zelda Game & Watch!

Zelda Game & Watch (1989) complete set of characters, scanned & compiled from the manual. Note that despite using the canonical "Stalfos" for the skeleton knight, the character resembling the Zelda series' "Moblin" is simply called "Goblin".

To celebrate the 35th anniversary of Zelda Game & Watch being released in North America (26th August 1989), here's a very high resolution version of the art on the top of the unit.
