#TamilNadu: The Naam Tamilar Katchi (#NTK) has released its 2026 Assembly election manifesto, centred on structural transformation in governance, economic self-reliance and the assertion of Tamil identity. A key proposal in the manifesto is the introduction of a five-capital model aimed at decentralising governance. Instead of concentrating power in Chennai, the party proposes distributing administrative, industrial, cultural and strategic functions across cities such as Tiruchirappalli, Coimbatore, Madurai and Kanyakumari, arguing that this would ease urban pressure and ensure balanced regional development. Beyond state-level restructuring, the manifesto ventures into national-level institutional changes, calling for a re-examination of the constitutional framework and Centre-State relations. Alongside this, the manifesto strongly emphasises Tamil language, culture and identity as central to governance and policy direction.
