So my 18 yo daughter came home drunk last night. No, she wasn't driving. Did we punish her? Yes but not how you would think. She puked many times. My wife and I let her sleep it off, made her go to work first thing in the morning, and then the fun began. When she got home we talked about every kind of alcohol (yes we're assholes) we could think of. Yes, she was still hung over. We kept on and on talking about alcohol, especially rum since that's what she had in her daiquiris. She was not amused. We knew it would happen soon enough. She goes to college next year and we know damn well she will drink there. Did we do it right? I think she learned a valuable lesson. Just don't know if it will stick.
