@HiRei0814 @RiotJaker Why do that? It makes it very difficult for players to get visas whenever they have to compete in LAN tournaments. Separating regions would create opportunities for players like Primmie who only know their mother tongue.

@RiotJaker add: why not just make apac north Korea japan and add other like vn or pH. then make apac south which includes rest of sea. and make a real wild card including SA and OCE

Hey everyone, I know there are lots of questions surrounding the regional breakdown we shared earlier. A few notes of clarification: - We took into consideration many factors such as community size (e.g. esports viewership), competitive strength, and commercial conditions - Slots to Cups will be distributed in line with the strength and size of each region. Larger regions will get more. - As mentioned in the full video, the breakdown is not final. What we may consider before locking it in: Stage 2 Play-In results this year, number of selected partner teams in each region, and tournament operator discussions. @razemontoya @RiotJaker There's no way Riot would let PRX be a wildcard team; they, along with T1, will definitely be partners in the coming years.

I'm seeing a lot of people complaining about the sub-regions. I'm not saying this because Indonesia has gotten a slot, but I'm pretty sure Riot has A LOT of data on the growth of each country, the player base, spending, DAUs, MAUs that helped them decide on those regions.

@ValorantEsports What's the pbl with players from PH and SA? Riot games certainly had the necessary data to make such a decision.If your region's ok, there'll be 7-8 subregion, not 6. VN was chosen because it has the right movement and enough fans to sustain a tournament, that's all.

@ehspicey @RocketBullets Ya, actually, Hoang is a VN surname, not Korean. There're more Vietnamese people living in the Us than other country outside VietNam. It seems to run a bit smoother when you use Korean, probably, because Hangul is well optimized
